Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24/10/2025

TradeSender ("we", "our", "us") is a prototype web app that helps tradespeople exchange job leads. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information while the platform is in a pilot phase. By using TradeSender, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

What we collect

  • Identity and contact details (full name, email, phone).
  • Business information (business name, website, trade categories, short bio).
  • Location details (street, city, postcode) to help with relevant local leads.
  • Usage and device information (how you use the app, referral IDs, logs for security and debugging).
  • Communications with us (support queries, feedback, pilot onboarding).

Client information you provide

As part of posting or sharing leads, you may submit personal information relating to your clients (for example, a customer’s name, address, email, phone number, and job details). We will store and process this information to operate the pilot and facilitate the Service. You must have a lawful basis to share such information with us (for example, explicit consent from the client or another appropriate legal basis under UK data protection law) and you must only upload information that is necessary for the purpose of the lead.

  • You are responsible for obtaining your client’s permission before uploading their personal information.
  • Do not upload sensitive personal data (e.g., health information) or payment card information.
  • We may remove or redact client information that appears excessive or inappropriate for the Service.
  • Clients may contact us to exercise their rights; we will handle requests in line with UK data protection law.

How we use your information

  • To operate the pilot, including onboarding, basic matching, and account support.
  • To improve and test the product (analytics, diagnostics, user research).
  • To communicate with you about the pilot, updates, and changes.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and to maintain the security and integrity of the platform.

We rely on consent and/or our legitimate interests as the lawful basis for processing during the pilot.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your data. We may share information with trusted service providers (for example, hosting, storage, analytics, email) who process it on our behalf and under strict contracts. We may also share information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Data retention

We keep data for as long as necessary to run the pilot and meet legal requirements. If you request deletion, we will delete your data from active systems, though backups may take additional time to cycle out.

Your rights (UK)

You have rights under UK data protection law, including to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, and to object to certain uses. You may also have the right to data portability. To exercise your rights, contact us via the website. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request.

International transfers

Some providers may process or store data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and best-practice security measures.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no online service is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

TradeSender is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to use the platform.

Changes to this policy

Because TradeSender is a prototype, we may update this policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Please check back regularly for updates.
